In certain areas of our life, we tackle hard things for a period of time. But in some seasons of life, everything is tough. There’s no break. No rest. No refuge. And, worse, we’re not making the choice to subject ourselves to the hard thing. It’s just happening and won’t relent. From the very poor to the very rich, we all have severe problems at times in life.

Difficulty is an excuse that history never accepts. So we triumph.

Glory doesn’t always come through dominating. Yes, David rolled over Goliath, but Job staggered through his entire ordeal. He survived. In fact, the stories of greatest glory are usually those where people are backed so hard against the ropes that their life is nearly crushed. Until they rise and are more alive than ever.
