Sometimes you get a look at your life from above – like a big blimp is floating overhead.
And you see you’re in the middle of nowhere. And it’s kind of scary. You seem lost.
Friends seem far away (even though they’re not). Work seems strange (even though it’s not). Even your religious home seems foreign (even though it’s not).
Like a kid lost in the woods, we often panic and feel anxious. When will we learn? We’ve been here before. These are just different circumstances. The wobbly times are the dawn before light. A toddler, shaky on his feet before he walks. A 4-year old, jerky on his bike when the training wheels come off. A 5-year old, scared on his first day of real school. And maybe you. Right now. You might not even know why. But you’re off. You’re lost.
I don’t pity you. And you shouldn’t envy those who have an “easy” life. Because the breakthrough is coming. Almost every wobbly time in life leads us to a place where we’re able to travel further and do more to help others than we did before.
You’re not lost. You’re in transition. You’ve been here before and made it through just fine. You’ll make it through again. Don’t worry. It’s the way of life and the light is near.
